How to Play Bumpy Flight with Friends

Bumpy Flight is sold as a friend game. The trailer loop is luggage, fuel, passengers, then shared panic. Public servers work, but they are noisy and they fill. This page is the how-to-play-with-friends document: how to land in the same place, how to assign jobs before anyone sits, and how to keep a stack from dissolving into three separate highlight clips.

Join the same server

The clean way is Roblox’s own friends flow. One person hits Play on the official experience, everyone else joins from that friend’s profile or the in-game follow prompt. If the instance is already packed — public samples often sit above eighty percent full — the join can dump you into a different copy. Have the host hop servers until there is slack, then follow again.

Private VIP servers are not enabled on the official universe as of 26 August 2026. A closed cabin would mean the Pilot is someone you trust and the engineer is not a stranger stealing the wrench for a joke. Until dexx turns that switch on, use a low-population public server and lock your plan in chat immediately. The changelog will say so if VIP appears.

Talk before taxi

Open voice or a Discord call before the wheels move. Tutorial videos already point at a community Discord; the invite lives on the links hub when it stays valid. Voice is not required, but the six-second engine prompt is easier when someone can say “left side” instead of typing it.

Then assign jobs with the crew planner. A reliable four-stack is Pilot, cabin, engineer, and a floater who covers luggage plus overflow. A two-stack is Pilot plus a sweeper. A six-stack should not put four people in the cockpit. Extra bodies belong in the aisle or they become physics problems.

Play the friend meta, not the content-creator meta

Friend sessions die when everyone wants the Pilot seat for the thumbnail. Rotate the yoke between routes if you must, but never mid-climb. Completes pay the group. Clips do not unlock aircraft. Read how to complete a flight so the stack agrees what “done” means.

The other failure mode is over-helping. Three friends chasing one medicine request will body-block the aisle and miss the engine. One friend per warning. The rest hold their lane. That is the same rule as emergencies, just with people you cannot mute as easily.

New friends and first-timers

If someone in the stack has never flown, do not throw them the Pilot seat on run one. Give them cabin or luggage and let them watch how to play or the embedded prep video on this page. Second route, they can try the yoke on a calm departure while a veteran sits co-pilot and reads controls out loud.

Set expectations about BETA. Features break. A friend who thinks the game is finished will rage at a stuck prompt. Point them at the BETA notes and keep flying.

When a friend cannot join

Region, platform, or a full server can split you. Wait in a lobby place or a voice channel, not in a half-started aircraft. Starting without the engineer and then complaining is how you practice the wrong habit. If someone will be late, begin the pre-flight checklist but do not spool up until they load.

After the landing

Debrief one minute. Who missed a request. Who left the seat. Who wants the next Pilot turn. Then queue again while the muscle memory is hot. Friend groups that complete two routes in a row learn faster than groups that reset after every joke crash.

Play together on purpose. The game is built for that, and the wiki’s role pages exist so the argument takes thirty seconds instead of the whole night.
