How to Unlock Aircraft in Bumpy Flight
Completions grow the hangar. Codes, roles, and Discord screenshots do not.
Bumpy Flight is still in BETA. The published loop is short and honest: complete flights, level up, and unlock more aircraft plus cosmetics. That is the whole official progression sentence. There is no public XP table, no named starter-versus-late roster, and no storefront list of every plane. If a third-party page prints a fleet chart with invented model names, treat it as fan fiction.
Roles do not unlock. Pilot, Cabin Crew, Engineer, and Passenger are seats you pick in the lobby. You can fly as Pilot on day one if the lobby lets you. What changes over time is which aircraft you are allowed to take, plus cosmetic rewards for finishing loops. Do not confuse “I cannot fly this airframe yet” with “I have not unlocked the Pilot role.”
The live title still sits at early access. The last confirmed product date in our changelog is 26 August 2026. Aircraft availability can move when Dexx ships the next BETA slice. Write down what you can select today; do not tattoo a leaked roster into your notes.
How completions actually count
A completion is a full pre-flight → takeoff → cruise → land loop, not a taxi onto the runway. Crashing in cruise, abandoning a medical, or leaving after takeoff does not teach the systems you need on harder airframes, and it is a weak way to farm unlocks even if the client still awards partial XP. We do not have a published XP formula, so the only safe advice is to finish the loop.
The most reliable farm is a coordinated lobby that covers every role. Public servers cap at 20 players; that is not twenty Pilots. One Pilot stays in the seat. Cabin keeps passengers calm and walks supplies. Engineer watches electrics, fuel, and the wrench. Extra bodies sit as Passenger so the cabin has people to manage. Solo is allowed, but you will spend the flight sprinting between cockpit, cabin, and systems — that is a beginner mistake, not a speedrun.
Voice chat is on the store page for a reason. Call fuel state, medical, and fire out loud so the person who can actually fix the problem moves. If you cannot use voice, type the same three words every time: system, side, severity. “Engine, right, smoke” is enough. The friends guide covers how to keep that lobby together after the first landing.
What does not unlock aircraft
Promo codes do not unlock planes. As of August 2026 there are still no working Bumpy Flight codes. If a video thumbnail promises a “secret plane code,” it is farming clicks. Our codes page stays on the empty-state plus the redeem path so you can recheck after a real patch.
Game passes are not a published unlock tree either. Roblox’s public games-list endpoint did not return a pass catalog we can name. Do not buy a random pass because a Discord screenshot said it unlocks a jet. Open the official experience page and read the live pass list yourself before spending Robux.
The official group Bumpy Flight (218747834) promises exclusive rewards for members. That is a group perk, not a plane roster. Join it for patch notes and whatever Dexx actually ships. Group membership will not replace finishing flights.
Cosmetics are the other half of the official sentence. A new livery or cabin item is not a new airframe. If your hangar looks busier but the selectable aircraft list did not grow, you unlocked a cosmetic. Celebrate it, then go fly another loop.
How to check progress in a live lobby
Before you ready up, look at the aircraft you can actually select. If a frame is visible but greyed out, you have seen it and you have not unlocked it. If it is missing entirely, the BETA build in that server may not include it yet — early-access shards are not always identical. Do not assume a friend on another shard has the same hangar.
After each landing, stay through the result screen. That is where completions register. Leaving the server during taxi-in is how people “lose” a flight they already flew. Then reopen the select list. If nothing new appeared, you needed more loops, not a different code site.
Use the same controls on every airframe. Throttle, camera, and click-to-interact do not change just because the fuselage is longer. What changes is how fast systems fail when you ignore emergencies. Unlocking a larger plane without knowing the electrical panel is how new pilots turn a reward into a crash montage.
Mobile and console players can unlock the same content. There is no separate mobile hangar. The limiter is input: if you cannot hold a stable climb, stay in Cabin or Engineer until your hands catch up. Unlocking a plane you cannot fly is still progress — let a friend Pilot it while you learn the cabin.
A loop that actually grows the hangar
Run this as a crew, not as a solo checklist you abandon at 80 percent.
- Join from the official experience or a friend link. Confirm voice or a typed callout plan.
- Pick roles on purpose. One Pilot, one Engineer, one Cabin, extras as Passenger. Swap after a landing if someone wants stick time.
- Walk the pre-flight checklist once. Fuel, electrics, doors, supplies. Do not skip it because “we already know.”
- Take off with the published climb picture from the takeoff and landing guide. Smooth beats dramatic.
- During cruise, restock from the supply terminal before you need blankets or a wrench in a hurry.
- Handle the emergency that actually spawned. Do not invent a second crisis for content.
- Land, stay for the result, then check the aircraft list. If it grew, write the new name in your own notes — we will not invent a roster for you.
Repeat. The BETA will add more frames when Dexx is ready. Your job is to keep completing honest loops so those frames are waiting for you instead of sitting greyed out.
If you only remember one line: finishing the route unlocks the next plane. Sitting in the lobby does not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is there an XP table for Bumpy Flight unlocks?
No. Dexx has not published experience values or a level chart. Finish full flight loops and recheck the aircraft list after the result screen.
Do promo codes unlock secret planes?
No. There are still no working Bumpy Flight codes as of August 2026. Codes, if they ever ship, will be listed on the official group and our codes page — not in random video titles.
Do I have to unlock Pilot, Cabin, or Engineer?
No. Crew roles are lobby seats. Progression unlocks aircraft and cosmetics, not the jobs themselves.
Why can my friend select a plane I cannot see?
They have more completions, or they are on a different BETA shard. Finish loops on your account and compare hangars in the same server.
Do game passes skip the unlock grind?
We cannot name a pass catalog from public APIs. Read the live Roblox pass list on the official experience before spending Robux. Do not trust Discord screenshots.
